The name of the world heritage site by UNESCO is "Historic Villages of Shirakawa-go and Gokayama". Recently, Shirakawa-go is a really popular place for tourists, but it is crowded. Gokayama is located at the mountain area next to Shirakawa-go, which is less tourists than Shirakawa-go. You can appreciate the traditional landscape in the village. There are 20 prayer-hands style houses which are thatched. It is not easy for tourists to go there, so I have planned to go there with a guide.

Precautions
Transportation fee is not included. I can arrange taxis. The estimated price of one-way transportation from Shin-Takaoka station to Gokayama is about 23,000 yen for a normal taxi for maximum 3 people + guide, about 32,000 yen for a big taxi for maximum 8 people + guide.
